Scope Mount Stromlo Cafe and Function Centre is situated atop picturesque Mount Stromlo in the grounds of the Mt Stromlo Observatory in Weston Creek - less than 15 minutes from the city.
The cafe is set in an architecturally designed, award-winning building with comfortable and eclectic styling. The eating area is framed by floor to ceiling glass and a large balcony, which provides 180-degree views of the Murrumbidgee Corridor of the Brindabella Ranges. Just outside are the mammoth remains of the telescopic domes of the observatory that make a spectacular backdrop for breathtaking sunsets almost every day of the year.
Heading the team at Scope Mount Stromlo is Simone Hunter.
A seasoned professional, Simone was part of the team at the multi award winning Red Belly Black Cafe, which was situated on the hill prior to the fires in 2003. She also owns the iconic Blue Olive Cafe & Catering, located in the Melbourne Building, West Row.
Such is her appreciation for the area, she's decided to re-open the site with an emphasis on her passion for regional food and wine and superb coffee.
